I got a message about my count down ticker. I guess its only suppsed to count up, not down. Thanks for telling me Katie. Anyway I had not heard that before. I guess I missed it under the rules? I was wondering why only up. Is it for security reasons? That would make sense.
Just want to know. I loved my count down it was helpful, but if its not ok or harmful than of course I understand:)
hmm..i got something like that too...but i don't remember what it had said. i guess mine is against the rules? i don't know...

Yeah it's for OPSEC reasons... Just because we're not really suppose to announce dates of deployments or returns. I'm not sure exactly where it is stated but it's some where in there.
Specific dates that our men are coming home shouldn't be made public for security reasons, so you're not supposed to have tickers with countdowns to when they are coming home... a count up ticker (like mine) is OK. You also shouldn't post anything that says the exact date they are coming home either.
It talks about it in number 4 under IV-A under the Forum Rules, and also in Amendment A. http://www.militaryissuedgirlfriends.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12
Renae also mentioned not using dates in this announcement: http://www.militaryissuedgirlfriends.com/forum/announcement.php?f=30&a=17
It's all for our men's safety & security!
Please refer questions such as this to a mod.
Thanks for posting the links to the rules, Stef.
