LADIES, This is posted above in the rules. This is Amendment J to the rules. We had a bedroom section, but people got too graphic which concerned me legally. We removed the bedroom section and there is to be no sexually related material posted on the forum. There are MINORS on this forum, and I cannot let a MINOR see sexually related material. Sorry, but this is the way it is. Wanna talk about sex, go find a porn forum. Don't like this rule? Leave. Here is a copy of the amendment.

No forums at militaryissuedgirlfriends.com, at any point, shall not be used to talk about graphic sexual topics. The staff of militaryissuedgirlfriend.com has SOLE discretion on deciding what is too graphic and what is not.

A good rule of thumb is: Would I wish to speak would my grandmother about this? If not, do not post it.

No sexually related material should be posted on MIG, NONE!

Threads will be deleted immediatly when I staff member finds it to be crossing the line between simple information gathering and sexual details.

Examples of things that are allowed:
Heath related questions - Posted in the mind and body forum. (These should be worded correctly, SLANG is not permitted. If you have a serious question, please call the parts of the body by their correct names. Any other body issue, use the correct terms.)
Pregnancy related concerns - Should be posted in the TTC and Motherhood forum.
Birth Control Questions - Should be posted in the mind and body forum.

If you are unsure of what forum a thread should be posted in, please ask a staff member. And if you are unsure if the topic is allowed, please as a staff member.

Thanks for the reminder.

Are we allowed to talk about sex as long as its not graphic in our blogs?

If not, I totally get it. Just wanted to make sure!

Depends. Probably not, because "graphic" is in the eyes of the beholder. Honestly, I don't completely understand the need for people to talk about their sex lives, this information should be shared with yourself. If you want to talk about it, that's what your real life friends are for, to talk to about this stuff. And when I go out with my friends, we don't ever talk about this stuff, it's just private stuff. Occasionally asking questions and stuff is one thing, but still should be kept to your real life friends.

Thanks :)
I don't see why anyone would want to really talk about their sex life on a public forum anyways, it's your personal business.

What are you exactly speaking of?? ANY mention of sex at all?? Like if someone has a health question-- say a young girl who had bleeding after sex and wondered why?? Is that inappropriate?? Because I don't think it is.

I need clarification of what IS considered appropriate. Because honestly I've spoken to my grandmother about sex too-- for example, I told her (in a joke) that a woman would satisfy her more than a man. sooooo.... define please.

If there were such an instance of a 'young girl' who needed such information, we have doctors and websites like WebMD for a reason. I believe part of the concern here is that there is a HUGE legal issue if there is ANY type of sexual content on this site when there are minors who are allowed to be members. If people want to talk sex, join a different forum that has those age restrictions in place to cover their liability. I'm sure NONE of us want to see Renae sued over simply because people don't want to go elsewhere to discuss sexual topics.

yea. ok.

I'll be the b*tch. I like some of the young girls here but really...I'd be happier if it was 18 and up.

but I like it here and thanks for letting us have a place to go renae.

If a young girl is bleeding after sex, or any time....she should consult a trusted professional ~ such as a doctor. Also, people are welcome to discuss sex....they can personally PM or email someone they trust here or somewhere else. It's just not to be done in the forums. :thumb:

No offense, but this is bullshit... this site is for girlfriends as well and if there are younger girlfriends they need help through this kind of stuff more then any of you older girls. So this, even I take offence to, even though i'm going to be 18 very soon, I just think this is total bullshit. Thats not support at all.

I didn't realize a military support site also meant support of sexual material? There's sex boards all over the internet for that kind of thing :thumb:

Thanks for posting this. As for the "bullshit" I am a supporter if it was 18 and up also. There is just too much controversy over enlisted soldiers dating underaged girls and then those girls posting inappropriate pictures and saying inapporpriate stuff thinking it's ok. It's not.

ha, there's a prime example, do you REALLY need a signature that has the F word in it? Yes, I say that word but not on a public forum!!

I don't need to read it over... it was about 18 and up, whatever... It's still over a month old thread about sexual material that we shouldn't be posting in a forum with minors.

It's not about support, it's about the legality that comes with minors on the internet.

Umm first off... what i said pertained NOTHING to sexual content. IT was in general of making the forum for 18 and older... there is another site for that called military wives, where younger girls are not aloud. But hey, if people are that rude then fine, you can want it for only 18 years and older. And for those who are saying that they are concerned with the military and younger girls, that is for the military to descide and deal with, not the wives, fiancees, or girlfriends.

I'm done with this, i only ment as far as girls under 18, period, NOTHING sexual. For i think that the use of sexual content should be kept between the people who it is done by and no one else.

Thanks anyways though! :thumb:

ok that made very little sense, maybe try to spell and grammar check if you want to make a convincing argument

as far as rude is concerned i dont think that protecting themselves from potential lawsuit is rude, what is rude is not understanding something and lashing out without intelligent thought

You can read it JUST fine. And i'm not lashing out period. Its always the same poeple talking about the younger people and it just gets really old. And yeah, i do think its rude to single out people. They cant help that they were dating a man when they signed up for the service. I didnt choose this route, i supported him and here I am.

*Not to mention i was in the works of fixing my spelling errors... thanks anyway!

Lets leave that up to renae to decide what she wants to do with the age issue.

until then lets all stop complaining and arguing with one another, and go do what this site was made for, support.

maybe you can fix them before posting, but thanks anyway!:thumb:

its always the same people getting in a huff about the younger people youre right. it does get old. but somehow its still and issue for you isnt it? even when youre going to be 18 soon.

and its not singling out people, its the LAW. laws are usually there for a reason, for our protection. what you are arguing right now is that you want to change the LAW for discrimination against minors... ? does that make sense?

its not saying that anyone is judging minors for dating military men, this thread was created to say that SO THAT we can support minors dating military men, we need to keep the sexual content to a minimal, as in not existing.

Lets leave that up to renae to decide what she wants to do with the age issue.

if you read the original post, she has decided and it was to make sexual content on this board forbidden.

Obviously if we are to have minors on this site than there should be no sexual content at all. Renae's already made it clear that it's too much of a liability. It'd also be nice if the minors on here kept their attitudes in check.

As a doctor, I can understand Renae's fear with ridiculous lawsuits. I think limited discussion of sexual content in an appropriate forum would be okay, but I completely understand that it's just too much of a liability for Renae.

I wasn't going to get involved but when I read this it just took me over the edge. I didn't choose to fall for someone who would soon enlist. It was a high school romance and then he graduated.

If you go to a high school this is the only thing people talk about and they are all underaged.

If you go to a high school this is the only thing people talk about and they are all underaged.

It's a legal issue for Renae because this is a PUBLIC forum. There's no way to prevent people from talking about sex face to face, but this is the internet. It's subject to the full extend of the laws against minors viewing sexual content. If this site were found to have sexual content on it with minors allowed to view it, she could face charges. It's the way it is, there's no point in arguing about it. If you (general you) have an issue with the policy, there are plenty of other places to discuss sexual topics.

ok. I just HAVE to reply to this since I didn't realize that a thread that died a month and a half ago had been brought back up to tell me off!

#1-I've never had any issue with you so whatever

#2-younger girls that are in mature MILITARY relationships should buck up and deal just like us "older" girls. we are all here to support each other and no age group should need "more" support than any other.

#3-sex talk isn't the only thing that could gain renae trouble about having minors on board. Us supporting a relationship between a MAN and A GIRL can get us in trouble.

yes in the end renae is the end all be all in decisions. OF COURSE SHE IS. she owns the whole shebang. but as a member I can and I will give suggestions as I see fit. they can be deleted, ignored or enforced. no skin off my @ss either way.

k. now I'm done. :biggrin1:
