OK, I figured since we sometimes don't have anything better to do...we can do this. I'm going to make up a situation, and write it. It's going to be totally fake, and have things in it that probably aren't appropriate to be in this forum, OPSEC wise anyways. No answer is right or wrong...for the most part. But we can discuss why we think certain things should be censored in this forum, or uncensored!

OK, here's story line number 1. Let me know if you think this idea is stupid.

My husband, Keith Miller, just left for Iraq today. They had to be ready by 5am, and were leaving for DFW airport at 7am. They have a layover in Atlanta and should be out of the country by 1pm. I really miss him a lot, already! We live on base in Texas, he's in the infantry and is an E-5.
My name is Rachel Miller, and I work for Sprint over at the mall in Dallas. I am usually out front selling phones all day, it's a fun job and really great because I get to talk to people all day long. I look foward to getting to know you all. I'm usually on the computer after work at like 6pm, so maybe I'll get a chance to chat with you!

There is too much info about his trip. As well as no last names are allowed. Along with she is giving too much info about herself.

Here is what I would say about that:

--No last names obviously

--I don't think that the exact airport and times should be there. Because if you combine the last names with Texas and the airport and the e-5 infantry, I could figure out exactly who you are. If I was someone who was up to no good I'd be able to take Mrs. Rachel Miller and theaten to do things to her and I'd be able to get the message back to her hubby's unit.

Hm...

first thing, no last names! his OR hers.

way too much information, regarding times, destinations.

pretty much, enough information where I feel like, if someone wanted to, they could go and find Mrs. Miller, at home OR at work and then find her husband's unit during their layover at the Atlanta airport and.....you know, do whatever it is that an evil person would want to do.

^what they all said^

lol, I don't think I'd ever seen someone give that many violations! But I know what you are trying to address Renae. I think this would be a good idea :)

I basically have nothing to add that the girls haven't already said. No last names. Too much information was given to the point where someone could find Keith and Rachael.

Sheesh! Everyone else already pointed out the errors in that ... but this Mrs. Miller is like SCREAMING -- "Hey, Mr/Mrs. Bad Guy -- find my husband! Or heck, come get me too! Wooooo! If ya don't find me at work before 6 -- got to my home afterwards."

That's crazy insane. I hope no one would be that idiotic. Sheesh ...

I agree with everything said..
I know with Brandons specialty (according to his recruiter.. I dont know if this is the same for everyone) he isnt allowed to have pics of his family and anything that has our names on it because with stuff he will know the "enemy" will do anything to get the info out of him..
