Hopefully I can think up a storyline that has a little more gray area.


Hi Girls, as you know my boyfriend Kevin is in Iraq right now. He called me today, but he's not allowed to say where he is. In a letter he sent me last week he said he would be up around Baghdad all month though, so I'm assuming he is near a city, which means he's out on the front lines. I'm really worried about him, because he said he was okay, but I could tell from the tone of his voice that he was scared. He said they were going to be on R&R in 2 weeks for a month! They've been over there for so long, they really deserve it. But they aren't certain where they will have their R&R at...(although he said he wouldn't be here in the US).

But like I said, the reason I am so upset right now is because of the tone of his voice...I just know they are not safe where they are at right now. Oh well, I'm going to keep sending letters, I guess that is all I can do.

this is a tough one....I'd say the "He said they were going to be on R&R in 2 weeks for a month!"...and then saying that it won't be in the US is a little too much info.

I agree...this is a little harder. I think these sentences give a little too much info:

I think the biggest security risk is talking about where he was at. She assumes that he is around baghdad. I would have much rather had her said it was a major city... Knowing where the troops are at, would be a security risk.

BTW - Anyone can make an OPSEC quiz....it's hard for me to think up storylines.

i think the one thing that jumped at me the most was her saying that they would be up by baghdad all month -- that just gives too much of an idea of where he really is. if he was special ops or something ... she'd possibly ruin the entire operation.

and then talking about him being on R&R in TWO WEEKS for ONE MONTH -- well, sheesh, if i were a bad guy and had the information i'd immediately think to myself, "gee, any flights out from AROUND baghdad should be monitored because they're going on r&r and what a way to take 'em down!" ya know?
